Vacancy - Warehouse Manager

Bryden Stokes Ltd., a leading company in the Distribution Sector, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and analytical leader to manage the operation of the warehouse in its entirety, including management of stock, staff, delivery operations and warehouse facilities. 

Accountabilities and Duties 

o Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational, safety and HR policies and procedures.
o Comply with HM Customs regulations; shipping requirements by being knowledgeable with existing and new legislation; enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on needed actions.
o Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols; safeguard condition of stock.
o Control inventory ensuring stock rotation guidelines are maintained and relevant divisional heads are advised of close dated stock.
o Maintain physical conditions of warehouse, vehicles and equipment by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisition for replacement.
o Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditure, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.
o Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
o Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and developing employees through coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
o Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

Education/ Experience/ Skills Required

• A degree in Business Management.
• 5 years' management experience and experience in a related occupation.
• Experience in operating in a unionized environment will be an asset.
• Experience In the areas of Supervision, Developing Budgets, Safety Management, Developing Standards, Managing processes, Surveillance Skills, Inventory Control, Reporting Skills, Analyzing information, Equipment Maintenance, Judgement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer, organisational and execution skills.
